Hi Jim,
Yes indeed SWFF & Pike Fly-fishing and lots of Float Tubing.......Oh and lots of 3wt river fishing including spider work and dry fly and the Duo and perhaps I can get back to some Sea-Trouting....and already looking forward to getting the double hander back out :roll I think that's it!

As you know Im up for anything haha :z7
I hope to get back SWFF and bakc on the Don after a long time away (Sandy)
Rob has promised to take my out for the Pike this year so hopefully get that done!
-
I'm off to Menteith early in the year to fish another Pike trial with the PFFA, hopefully a few more of the big girls will come out.
Also hoping to do a bit of Czech nymphing over the winter..if Ben ever remembers to bring in the rod for me! ;)
Lastly I hope to get a Bass on the fly...have a new venue to try...so that should be fun!

Hi Jim,
Next year .... Ok.
Summertime pike are fun . How's about a Haddo Tubers outing to Venacher , (or a place I know in the Heelans) .
More SWWF than last year ,if we get a summer - Bass, sea trout , mackies and pollack , not forgetting the 6inch podleys... !
More big rod stuff planned when the salmon beats reduce their prices due to the recession (???) . Mmmmm.
America beckons still . Striped bass in Mass. might now be rainbows and salmon in Michigan now that hurricane son will re-locate there in January . Carp on the fly in Michigan looks fun too.
And all of the usual stuff too hopefully .
Soo much fishing to do and so little time to do it !!
Paul.
PS: you have a PM.

Hmmm, maybe make sure I get a few days off and get out on the river, Lintrathen again and a hill loch or two ...... there is much to explore and much to revisit :wink
Great topic Jim
Best wishes

I'm counting on it :roll, a bit of strongarm tactics perhaps, or maybe just the lure of a bonny wee brownie or two. I promise to pick beats with no trees :wink

Find mackerel within fly casting distance, unlike this year :shock
Orkney(finally)
And theres a plan being made for a few days on Lough sheelin.
If i manage half the above i will be happy.
Noel.

Good topic..got me thinking...
1. Continue exploring the Don for nice brownies....try monymusk I think....
2. The Dee at Parkhill once or twice...
3. Summer holiday somewhere for nice river brown trout.....perhaps spain, france, any ideas?
That should keep me busy enough.
Cheers,
Steven

I will continue to trip along to the Earn to get me a salmon as I didn't manage one this year.
Continue with the jungle fishing on the Fife Eden although at the backend it was more like combat fishing.
I want to try and get back up on the Don in the spring for some trout fishing and I will try and get a day on the Cowie for a bit of nostalgia and some sea-trout.
-
A spring day or two on the Deveron for some nice brownies.
A few days walking in the Knoydart peninsula during which I will take some time out to wet a line once or twice in the lochs.
Annual pilgrimage to a couple of Sutherland hill lochs.
Hopefully a couple of seatrout and salmon from the Don in the Fintry/Kintore area.
Any other chance I can get out regardless of venue !!
Apart from that I'm not asking for much :z4 :z4 :z4
Cheers

My plans were to take a trip down to Menteith for a week and hopefully tour round Rutland, Grafham and Pitsford.

I got quite a surprise the other day when "Bamboo Nut" Mike Livingstone wandered up to the Haddo hut with his two youngsters :z2 It's a long way to come, just to hand in a few flies! :z4
Needless to say ...... the kettle was soon on and we had lots to catch up on :z3
I have really missed Mike and his enthusiasm for bamboo rods since he moved to Norway ..... the three of us used to have such cool "Boo Bletherings" and then go out on the water to catch some of my trout with our favourite rods :wink Mike using his "Mike Shay special" and Sandy and myself our own bamboos
Ah yes ..... another plan for this year, more "Boo" fishing! :z16

I plan on winning the lottery :z7
Meanwhile, back on terra firma, it's more than likely I'm going to be hitting Cornwall for a weeks Bass hunting next year - plus a few more trips all over the UK which I didn't really manage this year :z10
Personal mission is to catch a 3lb plus wild brownie next year, didn't manage that this year :roll
From the Don :? ........ maybe :wink

More dry fly fishing, just descovered the evening rise, after a long lay off.
Maybe some river fishing.

We're thinking about a third Dutch Open at Haddo :z4, followed by a couple of days on The Don, Colquhonnie House waters. May or June a good period for that part of the river?

Elisabet asked the other day, how about a week in Scotland on the River Tweed and River Annan, next spring.
I’ll say, well I don’t know….. :z12
As usually, we start up in the end of May for a couple of days on the River Österdalälven.
Late June will be at the same river.

From mid July too mid August up in the north.
And finally, autumn week up in the north.

Hey Mike,
Glad to hear I am missed! Yeah, I am missing Haddo right now - cold weather fishing, coffee and a natter in the fishing hut!
Anyway, plans for 2009 are:
More fishing in Norway
Heather is talking about taking me to Poland for a bit of grayling fishing
The 'boo day at Haddo
More fishing in Norway and even more fishing in Norway

The 'boo day at Haddo
Hi Mike :z16
Guess it would be a good idea for you to tell me when to hold the "Boo day" ....... on a day that you will be in Aberdeenshire :wink

I'll have to let you know a bit later but I'll give you plenty notice! I'll try to arrange to reunite some of the 'boos for the day.
