Hi,

Are cdc flies dries or is it just they sit higher in the water?

Was wondering what to use for sub surface (couple inches below) feeders?

Yes CDC's are generally dries or emergers. If you want o fish just under the surface use afloating line and traditional wet flies or spiders.
