Title: Artloch Report
Post by: Stuart at Artloch on 06/11/2006 at 13:59
GH PTN, Bibio, various Damsels, Bloodworm, Lime Green Fritz with Black tail, Orange Blob and Cats Whisker have all accounted for some good fish and anglers are once again reporting a lot of interest, but some fish are not taking the fly; some fish are constantly nipping the fly, while others after hanging the fly are taking a lunge on the final lift.   Anglers are also reporting that while some takes have been very solid, a significant number of fish are taking the fly very softly.

Some of Artloch’s larger fish surfaced this week.   I Sutherland tempted 8, best at 7lbs, using nymphs, while P Guy and R Harris each tempted 10, using a WSW, Hare’s Ear and Black Pennell, best at 6lbs 5 ozs and 7 lbs 2 ozs.   A Baird took a nice fish at 5 lbs using a Buzzer and J Keane was happy with his 6lbs 5 ozs bow taken with a Black Fritz.   F McMurray had a good 2 fish basket of 9lbs 8ozs, including a good 6lb bow using a Tan Damsel; he also released a fish at 8lbs.  However, Cezch angler M Cernoch took the fish of the week at 10bs 2 ozs using a Cats Whisker.
