Title: Artloch Fishery
Post by: Stuart at Artloch on 31/03/2008 at 15:49
Lack of reports down to the recent poor weather.  Some braved the poor weather and there is something surreal about watching fly-fishers with heavy snow falling around them!   However, the 5 inches or so of snow is now gone - hopefully, until next year...............and with warmer weather we can look forward to some rising fish.

Intermediate lines, combined with a wide variety of lures, have been generally most productive method.   WSW, Dawson's Olive and various damsels most successful lures.   Buzzers are still hit and miss, depending upon the day.   Despite the poor conditions I Sutherland released 9 all over 3lbs, best at 5lbs, while J Rennie tempted 11, best at 6lbs.   With the improving weather W Rainnie released 17, including a number circa 5 - 6 lbs.

First round of NE Challenge took place on Sun 30 Mar.   Bill Bain Fishers (BBF) took 1st place with 33 fish for 99 lbs 8 ozs, Gordon Fly Fishers (GFF) were second, followed by Kintore Angling Club, Colin's Dumplings and Macduff Marauders.   The BBF took a clean sweep of the individual prizes each receiving Maxima line and a Cadbury Egg!  A total of 101 fish were caught for 252 lbs.
