At last - a week free from ice but with the water temperature so low the threat is always there. Hopefully we can now look forward to better water temperature and, equally important, a rise in air temperature to make angling conditions a bit more acceptable. We are however fortunate to see as many anglers as we have had with fish just that wee bit more difficult to contact although some reasonable catches have been recorded. It has been very difficult to gauge the feeding depth as some fish have been taken at 2ft down whilst others have been taken from the bottom. The variable light and conditions have not helped. Best catches this week fell to;
Billy Milne Whitehills 19 fish
N Thomson Turriff 9 fish
J Able Fraserburgh 8 fish
P Gray Turriff 8 fish
Most fish have been caught on lures with the Yellow Dancer, Cat's Whisker and Cormorant the most popular choices.
Our Troutmaster 2011 competition is now available and entry forms are available at the fishery.
Boat and tackle hire also available and for all enquiries phone Bob on 07980 999 006.
Open seven days a week from 08:00 - booking not necessary. :z15
