Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 29/04/12

When can we expect the air temperatures to read into double figures and the North/North Easterly winds to dissipate? Fishing conditions this week have been far from ideal and most catches fell to the Buzzer allowed to drift in the wind and in some cases, suspended from a dry fly. With the fish feeding at or near the surface any change in weather conditions put them down where they were difficult to contact. However, despite this some reasonable catches were recorded the best of which being:

A Murray, Gardenstown, 16 fish, (Bunny Leech), J Murison, Turriff, 13 fish, (Buzzers), N Thomson, Turriff, 10 fish, (Buzzers), E Quirie, Turriff, 9 fish, (Buzzers), B Milton, Buckie, 7 fish, (Buzzers), L Davidson, Macduff, 6 fish, (Kate McLaren wt), B Cresswell, Macduff, 5 fish, (Fritz/Buzzers)

The past weeks rainfall has seen a throughput of fresh water and Saturday saw an upturn in activity. Hopefuly an improvement in temperature which is forecast will lead to a more settled feeding pattern.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days a week from 8:00am til 8:00pm with an extension of those hours now depending on weather conditions. Boats, rods and tackle is available for hire and visitors and novices are welcome. Booking not necessary.
