Where should I go fishing Saturday?
« on: 11/01/2013 at 11:33 »
Right, I have a very rare free day so I want to go and catch some fish.

Any suggestions on what and where to go?

(Thinking of anything, not just fly related, a type of fishing thats maybe only available this time of year etc.)

Surf's settled down again, maybe a spot of sea fishing?  Flatties on the sandy beaches or pollack on the rocks?
A bit of exploritary SWFF?
Something a little different from the norm of heading to a fishery.

Failing that a wee jaunt down to Perthshire for a chuck at the Grayling on Tummel, Tay, Isla or Ericht?  Not sure what the rivers are like at present, but they must've settled down a bit by now.

:) I don't really do fisheries, hence the question.

Sea fishing has been poor to tell the truth. Very few fish comming off, even on night tides. Rumours are that there is too much cold freshwater pushing out into Bervie Bay etc and the cod just arn't moving in to feed.

I am thinking Grayling to tell the truth, have tied a box of bugs up over xmas and have been kaming Czech leaders. Not sure what the rivers ar doing but will call Kate Flemmings later today :)

I could sneak in the 9 weight and float tube and go for some Pike on the way back.
