The old man turned 60 yesterday so I sorted out a Birthday gift for him, a fishing rod of course. Same blank as the 13ft rod I made in the summer but I'm probably happier with this one that I was with the one I made for myself.
It's a 13ft CTS Affinity DQ+ 8/9 rod. Teamed up with an Orvis Hydros LA reel, and a Mackenzie shooting head.

The old man finally put a bend in his rod. A 33"/14lb Salmon from the Don. He was even more chuffed that he got it on a self tied fly! :z16
