At last some sunny, warm weather that created some good top water fishing, with fish freely rising to various surface flies. The F Fly, CDCs, dries and emergers all attracted fish, while a variety of wets also proved successful. The WSW was the successful lure.
J Rennie released 33 over 3 visits, best at 5lbs, using a variety of flies, while father and son C and M Macpherson released 10 and 15 from CDCs. P Scott tempted 10, while C Cowan improved with 12, best at 5lbs, from emergers and various wets The F Fly proved very productive for F Thrall who tempted 15, while G Murray also tempted 15, best at 4lbs, but from various wets and dries. While top rod was R Birnie with 23, all from the F Fly, visiting angler visiting angler K Barnet released a cracking bow circa 8—9 lbs taken with a Black Pennell. While the wind was disagreebale in the morning for the Fraserburgh Angling Club outing, after a very good luncheon, it eased in the afternoon and they caught a total of 90 fish.
