Title: Fly life
Post by: Mike Barrio on 29/05/2008 at 23:46
The fly life was simply awesome today :z5

The fish were rising all over the place at Haddo and closer inspection revealed ......... revealed nothing really as the water was a soup :z7

In the surface film I could see midge of all descriptions, greenfly, alder fly, hawthorns, corixa, numerous species of "black things" from size 28 to size 10, adult damsels and the most prolific number of large olives that I've seen for years! :shock ( young Daniel Nelson would have been in his element )

AND ........ the rising fish were still nymphing :z6 with the best tactic that I could find being a size 14 black spider with a lime thorax "the PP version"

Best wishes

Re: "The fly life was simply awesome today"

Now I know why ........ today's fly life hatched yesterday! :z4

The fish were still nymphing enough to keep everybody interested in fishing just below the surface today, but talk about chalk & cheese :roll

Best wishes
