Lots of stuff I didn't really need apart from one of those really slim see through fly boxes for my sea-trout flies.

My first visit to the Don this year  :shock and I caught a Salmon  :X4

Rather coloured but a salmon nonetheless  :z12 My first 'real' fly caught salmon...... I was targeting them and I was in contact with the fly  :grin :grin :grin

Yep the right tackle is all important.......as is the fly, in this case a  Willie Gunn tied on a 2" brass tube borrowed from the guy I was fishing with...... which I had tied and given to him some 30 yrs ago :X2. What goes around comes around  :z13

Nice one Pete!

Fished middle/upper river today.  Not a sausage!  Very frustrating after feeling like there was every chance of a fish.

Well the river and weather look good for a bit of salmon fishing after work, here is hoping I can land at least one before the season is done.

Shot out for a last chance this afternoon before the weather turns Arctic.
Managed to take this 5lb cock fish on a #8 Black and Red fly. I didn't want to take him out of the water this close to spawning hence the crappy picture.

Nice photos Mike.

And a bonnie wee fish that Irvine.  I like the look of a fish in it's spawning outfit.
