Title: Rainbows in the Dee
Post by: Rob Brownfield on 02/10/2014 at 07:30
Speaking to a chap on the Pump House yesterday and he mentioned that a few Rainbows had been caught. Lo and behold, an hour later I land one of about 3 pounds on a Cascade. Fin perfect, nice shape, full tail, stunning colours.

Mentioned it to one of my Pipers at band practice last night and he said they had had a few around Banchory and even one at Aboyne.

So where are they coming from? Strachan? I know he was flooded out at the beginning of the year so maybe they got into the Feugh?

Wouldn't be the first time 'bows have been caught in the Dee, I dare say that the fisheries team would be trying to find the source right now.
Did you eat it :?

Wouldn't be the first time 'bows have been caught in the Dee,

The chap I met down there had mentioned that heaps were being caught a few weeks back, folk were even targetting them with dry flies! I got the impression it was a rather large release of trout.

I don't eat trout..horrible things!
