Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

woody

Hi all,

As a newbie to the fly fishing scene, I have purchased the above rod as part of a starter outfit and would appreciate any comments as to its performance/suitability. I intend on using it for trout fishing at lochs.

Hi,
I would agree with Mike, the Steelhead Pro is a perfectly acceptable rod to start with and will see you good for a few years yet.

I used to use an 8 weight version for jumping around the rocks at Cove when fly fishing for Mackeral and Pollock.

Enjoy!
