Hi there,
I am soon to try fishing for Pike on Aboyne Loch...
Does anyone have any experience on there?
where to fish on the loch and how?
Any information appreciated.
Thanks just now

Hi dave,
I believe it is ran as a syndicate these days however I'm near certain our resident pike manny Rob will respond if he sees this :z16

I used to fish it a lot, back in the day - mainly with dead bait for pike.
Its not a big loch so most areas are reachable from the bank.
Id say if you are fly fishing a boat or a float tube would be an advantage as about 50 % of the bankside has trees.
If you are wanting to fly fish off the bank id suggest do so off the golf course and over towards the dam. The best place years ago for lots of small fish) was next to the golf tee near the road. It was also good for catching ide.
I'd love to know if I still hold the aboyne loch pike record :X2

Dave,
Please excuse my apologies I somehow managed to mistake Aboyne Loch for the Loch of Skene 😂
Aboyne Loch is £8 per day or £12 with a boat. Just messaged a mate who knows it well and his statement was
"beside the speed boat is moored has less weeds than any part, is he fly fishing? Try next to all the Lilly’s and go soon before they disappear 🙈😂*
Cheers,
Steven.
