Thailand fishing report........
« on: 27/01/2010 at 09:32 »
Just back from an amazing 3 weeks in Thailand. When i was in Koh Samui i was lucky enough to get out for a wee days fishing.

Thought i would share a few of the pics with you guys.....

I had seven fish on the day. Four different species. All the fish were caught on carp rods. I asked about fly fishing for them and the guy said i could but i hadnt taken any gear and he didnt have any. Lesson learned!!

Was an amazing day and the power of the Mekong catfish is frightening!!!

It also makes a nice change to be fishing in your shorts and t-shirt!!  :z16

You should have smuggled that Red Tail Cat home!...a fish that size is worth about a grand to the aquarium trade, if not more!!

..and to think, it must have had a long swim..all the way from Brazil :)

Well done on the Arapaima (spelling?)..they are stunning fish are they not :)

As for John Wilson...he does not have to worry about fishing...his brother Dave owns Greenfield Valley Fishery in Thailand http://www.fishingthailandfishing.com/our_fish.htm

A long way from his days teaching me to catch Bleak on the River Lea in Hertfordshire...or cutting my hair (he was a barbour in waltham Abbey when I fished with him).
