I'd already committed to going to a concert in Aberdeen that night so a days 'tubing was out :cry
However, I will be looking in to see Magnus and blether to a few folk in the shop :cool:

Yes, tis a real pity about the conflict with the float tube gathering ........ BUT I am currently in a position to do something about this if you wish :z3
If it suits everybody that is coming to the gathering ..... I can hold the float tube gathering on Sunday October 12th?

Yeah! the Orvis day would be a hit so I too would be flexible if that was the feeling of the masses.

I'm just off the phone to James Blunt and he can't make the Tubing day if it's on the Sunday. :grin

Just a quick post to "bump" this topic up the ladder ....... as a reminder that the Orvis event is this coming Saturday and the Haddo Float Tube Gathering is on this coming Sunday :cool:

I understand from Ben that there's going to be a "one off special" on the day - if you like your Simms gear then there'll be 40% off rrp on the day :shock That includes waders etc etc :z16
No doubt there'll be some other goodies on the go too - and Magnus will be there tying flies, perhaps I'll be able to find out where I've been going wrong all these years :wink

Just wanted to say thanks to Ben for the shot of the Helios and selling me yet another reel...but at a fantastic discount :)...and to Hamish, Magnus and Iain for the blether and threats about the Outcast day ;) and to Davy for the Balvenie!!
Unfortuantly I may have spent £80.,..but Cass spent well over £200!!! An expensive few hours!!!
but thanks again for everyones time!

Thanks to all who came yesterday and supported the store event, I think a good day was had by all and that was down to those who attended. I will be running flytying classes at the store during November, probably on a Wednesday evening and all will be welcome (even Magnus) I will get some details out closer to the time.

Moving away from all things devil fish -
What would be useful is a picture post from Kevin (what is your handle on here Kevin :?) in the fly tying section, a step by step guide to his approach to tying in/using deer hair as you demonstrated on Saturday would be most useful for us all I think :z17 :z16
I'm sure I wasn't the only one who saw the advantages of this method :cool:

He's a watcher rather than poster Hamish, I've been trying to get him to post stuff for ages but the term procrastination just doesn't have enough time wasting to describe the bugger!!! :z4 :z4
