Title: Any Helpful Advice?
Post by: Liam Stephen on 17/04/2011 at 01:17
Just wondering if any of you local anglers would be willing to offer any helpful advice to a keen youngster, on effective Trout flies for this time of the season? I mainly fish the Kintore beat.
Thanks.

Hares ear Klinkhamers and paraduns in size 12(ish) will produce as will the same in olive in sizes 12 & 14.  Also with having some black klinks in a range of sizes as there are both midge & large stoneflies about.

If nymphing, a hares ear or pheasant tail in the above sizes is worth a throw and hares ear spiders, Waterhen Bloas or partridge and orange should all produce if your preference is to fish wets.

Cheers

Ben
