Anybody fished the Tweed?
« on: 14/03/2012 at 10:44 »
I'm trying to book one day on the Tweed, close to Melrose/St Boswells.  Has anybody fished it to let me know which beats are best?

Thanks

Matt

I have fished Lower Pavillion, which is just opposite Melrose and would recommend it. Some good holding pools and an excellent gillie.

Thanks for the replies.  I plumped for Middle pavillion in the end.  Cracking day breat, I lost a fish from the boat early doors and one good tug on the sunray and that was it.  Dad enjoyed himself thoroughly and enjoyed casting his new rod.

Cheers

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, cracking water.

As an aside heard that there was an eight pound plus broonie caight by one of the local Scottish river guys on the dries close to here recently.  Hardly surprising as this guy spends most of his waking hours on the water, but also highlights what we have in our systems.
