Down Lochter way the first grass frosts of the season certainly seemed to settle the fish down to deeper levels of the ponds and with the surrounding trees changing into their Autumn colours, it was a very pleasant sight to see. Equally as pleasant was the sight of rods bending on a regular basis to a wide range of flies and methods.
Neale Clark used a selection of lures for his 20 fish and Jonny Lewis had 19 fish also on lures.Dave Prentice had a bungee buzzer and diawl bachs set up on a slow intermediate line which found him 16fish, Albert Trail used the famous WSW lure to good effect bringing 15 fish to the net, Stuart Howie fished the apps bloodworm for 14 fish and Colin Wright stuck to a a floating line with a long leader and had 14 fish on a buzzer and cormorant combination.
Looking through the returns book thirteen seemed a lucky number as Neal Garden had this number of fish mainly on the mojito and also on that number were P Antipolo using wotsits,cormorants and assorted dancer lures, A Parnell on nymphs,Kevin Reid on a beaded diawl bach, Ernie McKay on buzzers and small lures and Andy Thomson on a blue damsel or silver humungus.
Mike Munro fished his favourite woolly bugger for 12 fish, Darrin Limond stuck to fabs for 12 fish,K Seddon had 11 on lures,Ian Syme had 10 fish on buzzers and Fred McCally had 10 fish on the mojito,mop and apps bloodworm.
Hopefully this reasonable Autumn weather continues along with the bending rods.
