I don't get back from Poalnd until the 6th of April, plan to fish the Ericht the following week. so March Brown spider will be my fly of choice.

Dunno, 

Hopefully a MB or Olive Dun of some sort, but then again possibly the same but in emerging form. Maybe a PTN? or MB spider?

Possibly a DHE or JT Olive, large F-Fly might be good or a Klink through some fast water? 

Either way it'll be great to be back on the river

Hmmmm......... Probably a Size 12 Adams Parachute or maybe a large Olive CDC spider.. I'm already undecided

Interesting, what river will that be for Easgach? Are you generally fishing them up or down?
I love fishing wets on the river but haven't found them very effective early season. Haven't found them great for the bigger fish either.

Looks like the first place a fly will be wetted in anger will be the Deveron this year. It will depend on conditions I suppose. I really want to catch the first fish on the dry but I am most likely going to start with nymphs, or a nymph and a spider if no early risers, but will even fish through the start of any hatch with these - it works very well for he who is Holy and to be obeyed ! Will then switch to JT Olive as this seemed to (surprisigly) outfish the DHE early on last season (on the Don). But that was then, this is now and all that ! I am considering also carrying two set-up rods this year, a 10ft #3 for nymphs/spiders and a 9ft or 10ft #4 for dries - will see how long it takes to realize that is a bad idea ! I am lucky in that all the rods I have can 'generalise' pretty good if I need them too, esp Helios 10' #4 and the 3# Streamflex Plus.
