Rob, I agree with Eddie, go fish and report back!
I fished a small stream again today with the 376. Arriving at 11am the water looked coloured, very coloured!
I messed around with the Duo and picked up a few nice fish to 12" on a flashy PTN. This killed a couple of hours as I worked my way upto the flats where I hoped to spot rising fish.
Come 1pm I was at the tail of a long pool eating a sandwich when the first flies started to appear. They were LDOs and the fish were looking up. After my sandwich I had a few steady risers to cast at. I picked off most of them on an Emerger pattern whilst working towards the riffle. I could see several good fish from a distance which got the heart rate going.
Once into position I had two good fish tight to my bank inline with each other. The better one was at the front as always.
The one at the back turned out to be a respectable 15"er:
It ran straight towards the bigger one as soon as I hooked it as if to warn it's buddy!
Luckily there was plenty more risers to have a go at. The hatch had become almost biblical by this point. Duns littered the surface and the trout went bonkers! I spent the next couple of hours catching dozens and dozens of Trout. Most were around 9-10", a dozen went 12" and a handful pushed 15-16".
Here's a few pictures of the better ones:
I have possibly found a new favourite trout stream!
I thoroughly enjoyed my day and I think the 376 did as well.
