Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 13/2/16
Post by: The Aul Troot on 14/02/2016 at 14:00
The past week has seen a continuation of the mixed weather conditions that have prevailed during the past six weeks although this week has seen lower temperatures and the threat of ice which thankfully did not materialise. The fishing has remained sporadic with the fish lying deep in the water and reluctant to chase lures. However, several good catches were recorded with the best amongst these being; A Murray, Gardenstown, 23 fish, (white nomad, olive fritz), A Caithness, Dunfermline, 10 fish, (cat's whisker, buzzers), K Maddocks, Aberdeen, 10 fish, (pink bunny leech), S Paterson, Aberdeen, 9 fish, (pink bunny leech), N Thomson, Turriff, 7 fish, (yellow fritz, orange buzzer), K Fraser, Greeness, 5 fish, (olive fritz).
The forecast for the coming week suggests a relaxation of the overnight frosts and milder conditions from Tuesday. Unfortunately the milder temperatures may be accompanies by sporadic rainfall.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am til 5pm and visitors and novices are always welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
