My main haunts are small overgrown streams and spate rivers where I find the 7footer a real advantage. It's a snowbee classic, teamed up with your #3 small stream fly line. I love this type of action, wild brownies up to 3/4lb. Loads of fish, great craic! Usual flies ; f terrestrial, small sedges, pale and dark olives. I've had great success with some of Jonathan Barnes flies at on stream guide dot com. Especially the elk hair caddis he ties, very boyant, with a tungsten beaded nymph under it.
The 10ft rod is a Thor #3/4 very light action. I'm wanting to use this for wroughly the same fishing, but where there is more room and the river is slightly larger. The rod cost €30 and seems ok.
I was thinking about the mallard line #3/4 DT floating.
Any suggestions, or am I on the mark there!
Cheers
Dave
