Title: Sea Bass in Nairn??
Post by: murph on 19/07/2010 at 20:22
Hi all,

I've recently returned from a weekend in Nairn and on one of my many walks I came across which I thought was quite a strange sight. I noticed a gull in the distance having a go at something and as I walked closer I realised it was a fish. As I got closer, I expected to find a salmon or a sea trout but to my surprise it was a sea bass which looked to be around the 7 - 8lb mark.

Could someone tell me if sea bass are common that far up the moray firth and if so, has anyone targetted them from the pier at Nairn.

Cheers,

Paul.

There are Bass all along the coast up and are seen 'in-firth' as far as the Kessock Bridge :wink
I can't imagine anyone has targetted them from Nairn Pier, but I'll ask around.
