orvis hydros rod and reel
« on: 03/02/2012 at 17:55 »
Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me... I've just bought a new Orvis Hydros rod, it's 10ft wt 4oz, 7wt line tip flex 9.5!

I was wondering if the Hydros Large Arbor IV reel for line weights 7-8; 6.9 oz., 3⅞ diameter is the best reel for balance for my rod or is there a better one for it?

If anyone can help me that would be great thanks!

Regards

Phil

Hi Phil,

That reel should suit absolutely fine.  Bring the rod out to Orvis in Banchory and you can try a few different reels (including that one) on it as what feels "right" in terms of balance is, within limits, a fairly personal thing.

Cheers

Ben
