Title: 40 year old Shakey radial glider switch rod.
Post by: Ivor Duffus on 05/11/2022 at 14:03
Took out the old Shakespeare for a cast with a modern short head line to see how it performed.

As I suspected it Spey casted good.  The overhead casting was a tad more tricky but ok once I got used to the heavy line.

That said, am sure my shoulder arthritis would flair up again if I did to many overhead casts.

I’ll bet that old rod has seen some action over the years Ivor.
Shakespeare produced good quality, affordable tackle back then which was great for us lads on a tight budget  *smiley-wink*

Nice looking pool in your photo but the banks look a bit of a jungle :(
