Title: Haddo Trout Fishery ( to Jan 19th )
Post by: Mike Barrio on 19/01/2009 at 18:05
Hi folks

After so many weeks of ice covering the loch, it's been nice to see a bit of open water again at Haddo. Although the temperature is still very low, the trout have been rising at fairly regular intervals throughout the day, which always helps to boost one's confidence.

Bloodworm, Pheasant Tail Nymphs, Spiders, Buzzers, Damsels, Corixa and various forms of Fritz have been on the menu and most anglers have enjoyed good sport, with an average catch of about half a dozen fish for their session.

Baz Robertson tempted 15 fish up to 3½ lb, Jim Adie 9 up to 8 lb, David Alexander 8 up to 3 lb, Neil Garden 8 up to 3 lb, Ross Cruickshank 7 up to 10 lb, Steven Kidd 7 up to 3 lb, Colin McKinnon 5 up to 8 lb and first time fly fisher, Andy Franklin netted 6 fish up to 2 lb, well done Andy!

Best wishes
Mike
