Title: A trip to the old school - my first matuka

Not done one of these before but it was quite satisfying trying to get a neat body, ribs etc

thanks Mike.

I did fish a shop bought matuka many, many years ago one night on the river Cree when I went out after sea trout for the first time.

A shoal of finnock moved into the pool and I had fish after fish. I have never forgotten it - hence my inspiration for trying to tie one..

That screams sea trout to me but I think i'd prefer a blue hackle personally  :z16

I do have some of the cobolt blue feathers.....but ive never bothered using them as i just dont think they 'pop' enough coloour wise..
