I have no problem spotting fish in the water, but I often struggle when they are in photos ..... a sixth sense maybe ( or just crap eyesight )  *smiley-grin*

It’s pretty much exactly where you expect. You can see the tail and the spots.  Mind you I don’t think the resolution when it’s uploaded helps.

The clue would be, it’s swimming away from me after being released  *smiley-tongue-out*

I give up  *smiley-grin*

I can't see it in the places that I would expect one to be.

Had a look down Saturday evening rather than doing the warm day.
Quite a few fish moving but mostly smaller ones, loads of flies with various spinners and sedge on the go plus a few olives and yellow mays hatching.

So I figured maybe a morning might be better, it was overcast this morning but from 9-11am there was a decent fall of spinners and a nice hatch of Olive uprights.
Pocket picking with a spent spinner to rising fish was a lot of fun

The water was beautifully clear and the light was great for photos

Some chunky ones too

All in all a great morning on the dries. I went home as the sun came out from behind the clouds as the rising fish disappeared.

Saw a few of these small copper butterflies, beautiful wee bugs

A bit of water  won’t do the river any harm. I took the temp this morning at 14degrees which is about ideal.
She was running beautifully clear too. The Don is quite a river too for water quality.

Moving the timeline along to Wednesday and Thursday in the forecast display in the first post - looks like we could see a fair bit of water in the North East later this week.
