While the recent poor weather certainly made some uncomfortable fishing conditions, some anglers did enjoy their sport at Artloch.
When the fish were in the mood they were taking a wide variety of flies, but dries, buzzers and nymphs were the most successful patterns. Examples of recent baskets included a trio with 11 fish; L Wood using a White Buzzer and visiting anglers P Mason and T Grimeshaw using buzzers, nymphs and fritz flies. Another visiting angler K Green tempted 12, best at 4 lbs on small dark dries, as did J Rennie with his best at 6lbs using a damsel. N Thompson returned 14, best at 4 lbs using a Nomad, while P Green released 16, best at 3 1/2 lbs using a variety of buzzers and nymphs. Top rod went to J Rennie who released 18 and 30 fish over 2 visits using an Olive Damsel, best at 6lbs.
