Is angling growing?

Hi folks

It seems that there is a feeling that angling is a growing sport in the UK ....... I wonder what 2010 will bring?

About time too.

Having spent a bit of time in various former colonial states last year :z6
Our distant Cousins in the States and in Oz (even here in the jungle) are much bigger into angling the we are.
Its great. When you walk into almost any Department style store/sports shop and find rows upon rows of fishing gear.
Not to mention the large outdoor specialists with awesome shops full of all sorts :shock Kids in a sweetie shop.
It also allows small specialists that make things interesting, to survive and hack out a decent living from doing something they (and we) love.

Plus of course it gets the Kids outside, makes us all healthier and brings a better appreciation of the natural world so they might think a bit more about future choices.

Hark at he banging his drum :roll But it would be great if we could generate the same kind of enthusiasm at home.

Lets hope the feeling is a good one :grin
