We are now into the period where water temperatures drop to the lowest for the year and this is normally reflected in a slowing of fish activity. The past week has seen the fish responding to slowly retrieved lures and end tackle as opposed to fast retrieve which has attracted little response. The weather, particularly as regards temperature, is now at a seasonal expectation and anglers will have to adjust their presentations to reflect the fish activity and feeding patterns. The best recorded catches this week fell to; S Collie, Methlick, 13 fish, (shug bug), A Murray, Gardenstown, 12 fish, (black fritz), M Stewart, Methlick, 5 fish, (shug bug), N Thomson, Turriff, 5 fish, (buzzers), I Watt, Turriff, 5 fish, (buzzers).
The coming weeks weather forecast suggests a rise in temperature from mid week and will test the versatility of the angler should water temperatures rise.
