When is a muddler not a muddler ?

when it has a trimmed 'fritz' head as opposed to deer hair.

Why try this ? One of my favourite flies i got in orkney has a black wing , red body and a black deer hair head. Do i always want the buoyant properties ? No. Do i like the water disturbing properties ? Yes

1st go but i think it has potential.
