slow mo of salmon leaping

some great slow-mo footage of salmon leaping on the recent autumnwatch episodeon BBC i-player (sorry folks outside of uk), plus a report on numbers/quality, and some underwater footage

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b015ydlb/Autumnwatch_Live_2011_Episode_2/

you'll probably want to skip to around 15.45 mins, 30 mins, then 47.30 mins for the salmon footage (3 separate chunks).

There was something about mullet around 40 mins too

the slow mo shows the salmon folding back their pectoral fins for improved aerodynamics, then unfolding them for gliding. cool!  parr/smolt confusion?

enjoy
