Told at work today to take two days off as were quiet. Typical, first week days off in ages and everything is frozen solid. mutter mutter, sulk

I've been over at Haddo this morning, tidying up boats etc etc and I found the ice to be a tad over 3 inches thick. The air temperature appears to be holding somewhere in the region of 3 to 6 degrees, so I would guess that with a little luck we might have some open water around Thursday :wink

Best wishes

Hi folks

Still totally iced over today at Haddo, but quite a bit thinner than yesterday and the snow has all gone. The air temperature was about 12 degrees, so this will hopefully continue :wink

I don't think the loch will be fishable tomorrow, but it might possibly be fishable on Thursday .... Fingers crossed :z3

Best wishes

Hi all

Just to let you all know that we are ice free now. We have had the snow melt down for the  past two days.
Due to the vast amount of water coming through the lake, through the night the strainers choked up with weed ets ( thanks to the swans) and the water went over the fish ladder and down the road to the car park.
If you are planning to come fishing please be careful when driving down to the car park.
The road was used today with no problems just look where you are driving.
Until we can get the road repaired.
The water is very coloured at moment. Should be clear in a day or two
Today. A. Gibbson returned 8 fish up to 4lb and N. Thomson returned 6 fish up to 3lb for their 4 hr session

Best Regards
Jonathan

Hi folks

Haddo was still pretty much iced over this morning, but there was a nice clear pool about 200ft long in front of the hut and the fish were rising in it :wink

I have spent most of the day breaking the ice and I am hoping ( as long as we don't get frost tonight ) that the main fishing area should be clear for fishing tomorrow morning :z3

So all going well, Haddo should be open for fishing tomorrow

Best wishes
Mike

Hi Baz

Try the "local weather" link at the bottom of the forum, it is usually pretty accurate and you can change the location from Methlick to wherever you want :wink

Cheers

It was nice to get out again after a couple of months, Here's a picture of the 10lbs fish which was caught straight after a 9 1/2lbs one.
