Title: Barbel on the fly
Post by: Mike Barrio on 29/09/2006 at 01:10
Received an email from Kev today  :z15

He attached a nice "piccie" of a barbel he caught czech nymphing on the river Dove with an estimated weight of 4.5 - 5lb.

He says the weather was really bad and the water coloured up, otherwise he might have had a few more. Apparently they go to double figures on that stretch

Nice one  :z14

Best wishes

I read the post as the River DON!!!....I nearly had kittens..lol.

Nice fish..and the Dove does indeed throw up many doubles each season. I think there is more and more chance of a good fish on the fly as the Barbel begine to clue up to the normal tactics.

Well done :)
