Christ see what you started Iain  :z4 :z4

I was thinking of steaking out a bit of the Don in search of a large slab of beef rod bender, but i'd most likely moooove on too early as i've not got the patience and am a coward and afraid of the dark.  Thinking of ditching my much loved DHE's in favour of a Butcher or even Bloody Butcher in a bid to carve up a big catch, on reflection i'll stop now before you all say i'm milking it.   :X1

Hard going again tonight, plenty small fish showing. There were a few sedges coming off later and a couple of nice trout rising, managed to tempt one of them on a CDC sedge pattern.

Nice one Scott  :z16 what weight is that one? Hard to tell from the pic. I didn't land anything decent tonight, pricked a few but they weren't committing fully. Maybe went home 2 early but it seemed dead.

Aye, the photo is a bit scewed. The trout got lodged in the weed bed taking a bit longer to land, so needed to release it asap, quick pic and back in the water, didn’t weigh/measure it but would estimate 3 - 31/2lbs tops.

cheers

Nice fish Scott,  :z16

You're fairly weeding them out, do you need glasses? That's the excuse I'm using for catching nowt over a pound.

Nowt wrong with Pot knuddles Peter Rabbit, if it wasn't for them I'd not have the strength to reel in the 1 1/2 lb Brownie that I caught on a smut middle river tonight, rise form not much bigger than that 'normally' created by a 4" fish.
