The Semeil Farm Fishings

Nearest town or village : Bellabeg (Strathdon)

Description : One and a half miles of mostly double bank fishing on the River Don, from Bridge of Buchaam upstream to Bridge of Newe. Brown trout, sea trout and salmon fishing is available and two self catering cottages are planned for the near future.

The most productive flies for brown trout are : Greenwells Glory, March Browns, Large Dark Olives, Grey Shadow and Hare's Ear for trout.

The maximum number of rods per beat is : 2

Day fishing permit (brown trout, sea trout & salmon) : from £10.00+VAT

Is a Ghillie available by prior arrangement? : No, but the proprietors are happy to show people the water.

Semeil Farm Fishings on the upper River Don Ben Dixon exploring some nice water at Semeil

This is another great little piece of water to explore, especially at the beginning of the trout season, as long as the winter has not been too harsh and temperatures are reasonably mild for the time of year.
