Mill of Elrick Trout Fishery is stocked with mainly Rainbow Trout and is situated just north of Ellon, Aberdeenshire, in the North East of Scotland. It has excellent facilities catering for beginners, occasional fishers and experienced fly fishermen.

Well stocked tackle shop.
Tackle for hire.
Comfortable reception with microwave and coffee making facilities.
Tuition - help is available whether you are a total beginner or wish to learn fly casting techniques.

( ANY METHOD LOCH )
This Loch is set up and stocked to encourage beginners and children to take up fishing. You may bait or fly fish. It is well stocked with predominantly pound sized rainbow trout, brook trout, brown trout and arctic char. Catching should not be too easy, but we hope you will always go home with your supper! These smaller fish ensure that even the youngest of novices can land their own fish.
( Times ) 8am to 8pm, or dusk during the winter.

Adult = £6.00
OAP, disabled and Under 12 years = £4.00
Plus all fish must be kept and paid for at £3.90 per kilo.
Catch and Release is not permitted on the Any Method Loch.
( FLY FISHING LOCH )
The fly fishing loch is stocked with rainbow trout up to 16 pounds in weight.
( Times ) 8am to 8pm, or dusk during the winter.

Any 4 hours = £20.00 (3 fish limit)
Catch and Release using barbless hooks is permitted on the Fly Fishing Loch.
( STOCKING )
Our stocking tanks and ponds are stocked with disease free Rainbow Trout, American Brook Trout and Arctic Charr. Triploided Fish are also available.
Our fish are hatched and grown on at our own site. Limited importation of stock along with a high degree of bio-security maintain the disease free status of the site. Mill of Elrick Fish Farm also supplies stock fish to other rainbow trout fisheries in the Aberdeenshire area.
The fishery is situated north of Aberdeen between Ellon and Auchnagatt. Take the A90 from Aberdeen heading towards Peterhead. Bypass Ellon and turn left on to the A948 towards New Deer. Travel for 7 miles and just before Auchnagatt, the fishery is clearly visible on the left hand side of the road.

The 3 bedroomed cottage sleeps up to 6 people and is adjacent to the Mill of Elrick Trout Fishery. Your hosts are the fishery owners, Dave & Donna Basford.
This cottage is a great base from which to explore the rainbow trout fisheries of Aberdeenshire and is also within reach of the rivers Ythan, Deveron, Don and Dee.
GROUND FLOOR:
Cosy lounge: with open fireplace and colour TV. Sun porch with window seats, has sweeping views of the countryside, and is on open plan with the lounge.
Double bedroom (1): Large twin bedded room with view of garden.
Bathroom: Fitted with a 3-piece suite and electric shower over the bath.
Fully fitted and well equipped dining kitchen: including electric cooker, automatic washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave.
UPSTAIRS:
Double bedroom (2): Fully furnished with twin beds, window seats with beautiful views across the countryside.
Double bedroom (3): Fully furnished with double bed, window seat again with beautiful views.
The cottage is double glazed, has central heating ( Bed linen and towels are supplied ) and it is available for very reasonable weekly rates.
