The Inverurie Burgh Fishings extend to approximately six miles, consisting of left bank fishing on the River Don and right bank fishing on the River Ury. There are about twenty named pools on this beat.
From Hebbie's Pool down to The Meetings you will find a great variety of water to fish, with fast, slow, deep and shallow sections.
You have plenty of water to cover, so travel light and cast and move often, or at least move often. This is a good stretch of the river for brown trout and if you keep your eyes open, I'm sure you'll find them.
This might be a council water, but it has always been one of my favourites!

Try whichever river flies you would normally fish with confidence, personally, I often use my spiders, Hare's Ear dries, Olive dries, March Browns, Black Pennell and Silver Invicta at Inverurie for some reason.
You get the added bonus of being able to fish the River Ury on a Sunday too, something that is not allowed on the River Don.
And the seasons? The salmon season runs from February 11th to October 31st. The brown trout and sea trout season from April 1st to September 30th ………. Enjoy!
