Glen Tanar Loch is a private loch stocked with rainbow trout. The loch lies in the beautiful, tranquil surroundings of the Glen Tanar Estate on Royal Deeside and covers about 5½ acres.
Fly fishing is from boats only and there are three boats available. ( A maximum of two rods per boat )
Day sessions are from 9am to 5pm, evening sessions are from 5pm to 10pm
Two fish per adult rod and one fish per child rod can be kept.
Glen Tanar Loch is open to anglers seven days a week from March to December and permits are available at Brooks House during office hours, which are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm.

It is always a good idea to telephone in advance to check availability and avoid disappointment. Bookings can be made for the weekend.
Lifejackets for adults and children are available. Health and safety procedures are displayed in the boathouse and must be adhered to.
Glen Tanar Estate has much to offer the visitor. A place to unwind, to follow scenic walks, to picnic by the river, to fish for trout in the loch and to fish for salmon in the famous River Dee.
