Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

This week has seen only one winner in that the weather dictated throughout the week with lower temperatures exacerbated by wind chill in the northerly winds and heavy, squally rain showers making conditions less than amenable for anglers. However, despite the above, anglers still appeared to pit their talents against the fish with buzzers and lures proving most successful. Each day presented different conditions and the ability to interpret their effect on feeding patterns was paramount. The best recorded catches for the week fell to; A Murray, Gardenstown, 27 fish over several visits, (white fritz, black fritz), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 8 fish, (black buzzer), N Middleton, Aboyne, 7 fish, (viva), K Fraser, Greeness, 7 fish, (orange blob, okay dokay), I Watt, Turriff, 6 fish, (buzzers), G Ellington, Ellon, 5 fish, (buzzers).

The forecast for the coming week suggests that temperatures will continue to drop and overnight frosts will be common. Winds and rainfall are due to drop off in the later half of the week.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am and visitors are always welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery. For up to date information and conditions phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
