Edmond Drury Trebles.
« on: 21/10/2007 at 15:27 »
When i first started usuing drury trebles we reconed that if the nylon held we would land the fish and thus it was for many years. Now a days it is quite common to lose fish that appeared to be well hooked on them.
Has any person got any ideas why this should now be the case?
Have tried sharpening them, giving the fish more time etc. bur loses still occur.

Possibly finer wire hooks pulling through - compare an 'old' ED treble to the 'new' generation of trebles and you'll see what I mean.

Possibly smaller barbs - (see above).

Possibly that's just the way it goes sometimes  :z8

I've had more success with doubles holding over trebles myself, but that could just be as I don't use trebles anywhere near as much as I used to; these days usually singles/doubles.
