OK so what do you use to control your tipper material on the spools? And stop it from unraveling and becoming a birdsnest nest somewhere in the general proximity of one's navel.

I have seen some some elasticated things with a feed hole in them that may or may not do the trick, but have no idea where to get them.

the wee red elastic bands that your postie uses are good, doubled up, for smaller spools. cheap, practical, simple.

woman's hair product department of just about any supermarket. they're cheap and last for ages. bring along a tippet spool to the store to get the correct size.

as an aside- look at the inner groove on the ones in the pic above. they flatten out if needed.
if you find larger sized bands, these are equally good for fly reel spools and keep the line tight on the spool and from loosening and getting all mixed up which can create a mess that needs to be untangled just when we need to use that spool
