Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report 23/5/15
« on: 24/05/2015 at 13:55 »
The beginning of the past week has seen a continuance of the cold and breezy conditions although towards this weekend there has been an improvement in temperatures. However, the marked difference between day and night temperature has still kept the water cold and together with the breezy conditions have made the fish feeding habits unpredictable and changeable.
Now that June is approaching, hopefully we will see temperatures and conditions improve and make the fish more amenable to a dry fly presentation. Lures and buzzers wee still the predominant catching method this week. The best recorded catches fell to; A Murray, Gardenstown (several visits), 41 fish (white fritz, pink nomad), R Ewen, Macduff, 22 fish, (buzzers, diawl bach), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 15 fish, (black buzzer), J Mann, Turriff, 11 fish, (buzzers), K Fraser, Greeness, 11 fish, (black butcher), A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 10 fish, (cat's whisker), N Thomson, Turriff, 7 fish, (buzzers), S Griffiths, Fordyce, 7 fish, (black fritz).
Delgaite Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am til 8pm and from 1st June hours will be extended to 9.30pm for June and July. Visitors and novices are always welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
