Haddo Trout Fishery ( to September 24th )

Hi folks

Dry flies, CDCs, Spiders, Snatchers, Crunchers and Hare's Lugs have produced some great sport at Haddo this week.

Derek McLaren from Blairgowrie tempted "at least 25" fish up to 10 lb on a size 18 dry fly, Graham Hartley netted 26 up to 15½ lb and an 11 lb Blue, Pete Green caught 10 up to 15 lb and Karen Gillies had 21 fish including a cracking double figure Blue!

Peter Scott caught 16 fish up to 3 lb at Sunday's Float Tube Gathering, Stuart Forsyth had great fun with 10 trout up to approx 12 lb on his wee Barrio 9ft 3wt rod and Paul Rankine tempted 9 fish up to 12 lb on his maiden voyage in a pontoon boat.

I guess the average angler's catch this week has been around 5 to 9 fish for a session, with many not quite reaching the magic 10 fish mark. The trout have been rising well on most days, but have not exactly proved easy to catch  :wink

David Petrie was pleased with his 5 fish which included one of approx 10 lb and another of 15 lb, Richard Hambly netted a nice fish of approx 9½ lb, Angus Ritchie one of 8 lb, Alex Burnett one of 10 lb and Colin Hudson from Yorkshire landed another nice fish of approx 11 lb, Colin Campbell tempted 10 fish up to 3 lb on his first visit to the fishery and Malcom Mead enjoyed a good afternoon with 9 fish up to around 6½ lb.

Best wishes
Mike Barrio
