Winter back again.

What a week of change in weather which took us back into winter and from fishing dries early on in the week it was back to the lures and intermediate lines and wooly gloves required.Plenty of fish for both parts of the week were taken as long as you fished to the conditions and plenty of Blues being caught and a lot of Big Browns seem to be coming onto feed, not stocked by us I may add, as all the doubles seem to have either been caught or disappeared, these Brownies  have ranged from 1/2lb upto an 8 lber caught by Chris Johnston all returned safe and are in prime condition and the Glen has always had a healthy stock of wild Browns as the coarse anglers will agree as they transfer many of them from the coarse loch to the fly lochs to grow on this may be what is making them feed more.Other fish taken during the week were an 8lb 7ozs fish for angler Steve Turnbull,Ronnie Ewen had a good day with 21 fish on smll wets with a fish of 10lbs,Peter Brown had 10,Gordon Grant 17,Rob Harding 10,George Stewart 13,James Pottinger had a fish of 7lb 5oz,Micky Maguire a 6lb 1oz,Gavin Crombie a 5lb 13ozs fish,Neil Scowen a 4lb 15oz,Neill Smith had 10,Stuart Hayden had 10 in a couple of hours,Chris Johnston with his big brown also landed a rainbow of around 9lbs which was returned.

The Club competition was won by Willie McRobbie ,battling the elements to hold off 2nd place Gary Gormley.Next week is the club outing to Rescobie and with Loch Fad weekend in july to look forward to.New members are always welcome .

Coarse Loch

A lot has been done this week on the loch with new platforms now in and making up 10 pegs now with plenty of space between them for anglers comfort. There will be a Coarse competition on the 24th May details for this on website and F/B or at the fishery.Anglers have been catching well through the week with plenty of good sized Ide been caught also bream, roach and Carp both common and mirrors have started to come on to feed.Best baits have been maggot and worm. The pole has done well for anglers when the weather has suited this method.Alot more plans coming on this loch in the coming months.
