Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

At last from mid week the weather has settled although it has remained cold with the water temperature staying very low which with the prevailing North winds has contributed to the fish remaining deep in the water and being quite lethargic in their feeding habits. Lures were the predominant favoured catching method with orange/white fished deep and slow giving best results.
Several anglers who mastered the conditions were quite successful,  the best amongst these being; D Frome, Turriff, 12 fish, (white okey dokey), G Littler, Newmachar, 12 fish, (white lure), J Mackay, Macduff, 11 fish, (orange blob), M Stewart, Methlick, 8 fish, (pearl cormorant), K Fraser, Greeness, 6 fish, (orange fritz).
The forecast conditions for the coming week remains settled although temperatures, especially at night, will remain relatively low.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8am til 5pm and visitors and novices are always welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
Due to Forestry activity the normal access is closed but a diversion via Delgatie Castle is available and signposted.
