Happy new year to everyone. The new season kicked off today and although it was hard going early doors it ended with plenty of fish caught.Jimmy Rhind had 16 fish with one at 4lb 5ozs,Callum Wright had a 4lb 1oz,Okane Mc Lennan a  4lb 1oz from his 7 fish,Jim Eddie a fish of 7lbs from 7 fish,Grant Scowen a 6lb fish. Some did start the year with a blank as fish were deep and lime and white scruffs and Buzzers were the flies to use .Intermediate lines and floaters fished deep had to be used to catch. We welcomed back the team after the festivities ready for the new season and  with 2 new members of Staff  who will be  joining the team at the Glen  this year as there is plenty to do.Building work and more to do on the coarse loch will be ongoing to improve facilities this year and we can now offer guided Salmon fishing on all major rivers such as Spey and Ness and also visits to wild hill lochs for wild brown trout in association with new companies Fly fish dreamer ltd and youfishscotland.Watch out for our upcoming new  videos made by Flyfish dreamer and if you have not seen the newly released  cd,once in a lifetime, which is being released this year in the USA  after release in December here, its well worth a watch about fishing in Scotland.Plenty of events this year at the Glen and Millbuies are planned along with Spey casting demonstrations and opportunities to try before you buy  by some top anglers in the field. The fly tying evenings will start again from the 12th Jan at the fishery and all are welcome from beginner to advanced as its all about fun and passing on knowledge so no need to be shy.Millbuies will be open from the 12th Jan for bookings and with a substantial stocking of Browns it should be a good year here and with Blues and rainbows to go in fishing will continue to see it another excellent year of sport. The club AGM will be in Feb after the last Competition for the year and its been a great year for the club. There is alot planned with weekends away to Loch Fad,club comps, inter club comps and day trips for members to lochs such as Watten to give members experiences of all fishing. The club is growing well and healthy and thats down to the ethos of it which is friendship and comaradery in angling, new members can join from March1st for consideration  and application forms for those who wish to become active members and take part in events can be picked up from the Glen of Rothes fishery. So alot going on and more to come, but  as we said at the latter part of last year ,we have to keep some things back rather than publish it all at once. A good start, to what will be a great season at our fisheries.
