Delgatie Castle Fishing Report w.e 13/12/14
« on: 14/12/2014 at 14:00 »
That was the week that was! Strong winds, rain and low temperatures predominated throughout the week but more particularly during mid week resulting in little angler activity. However, conditions towards the weekend improved but the continued adversity of weather conditions according to forecasts lead to few attendancies. Friday also saw the first ice forming on the water but this disappeared quickly as the day progressed and at the time of writing this report (Sunday) ice has not reappeared and current temperature is plus 7. For the anglers who braved the conditions the fishing was good with reasonable catches being achieved albeit all on lures fished deep. The best catches for the week were; A Murray, Gardenstown, 12 fish, (black/white cat's whisker), K Mackay, Macduff, 9 fish, (pink blob, green/black fritz), N Thomson, Turriff, 8 fish, (WSW, yellow dancer), W C Camp, Worthing, 7 fish, (blue fritz).
The first few days of next week suggest temperatures remaining more moderate and any wind coming froma warmer direction.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8 am until dusk. Visitors and novices are welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
The management and staff at the fishery extend best wishes to all anglers and hope for your continued support. The fishery will remain open during the festive season apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
